Letter to the editor

In response to clean-up time in Thomson-McDuffie, all of this sounds good and works in most cases. I do my part. Living off Mesena Road, you have to. Mesena Road is the highway to the landfill and when some things fall from or blow off trucks, they are there for the duration. If we get lucky, some inmates will come out and retrieve some of the litter.

On this road, it needs to be done weekly. Even worse is the slime balls who throw everything imaginable on the side of the road, on someone else's property or just throw it out of a car window. We all know law enforcement can't sit and wait to nab these inconsiderate jerks. Until some are caught and made examples of and sink teeth into law, it will never change. I just don't believe these type people know how bad it makes their home and neighbors all around look. When talking with Chris Pelly several years ago, he said they could put up "no dumping" signs and people would hang garbage on them. Don't you think folks like that make good neighbors? Thanks, but no thanks!
