Mrs. Mildred G. Manders
GROVETOWN, Ga. - Mrs. Mildred G. Manders, 83,
wife of the late William J. Manders, entered into rest Friday,
April 23, 2010, at Select Specialty Hospital, Augusta.
Funeral services were held 2 p.m., Monday, April 26,
2010, at Bellevue Memorial Gardens, Grovetown, with
Warren Newsome officiating.
Mrs. Manders was a native of Lincolnton, and lived most
of her life in Grovetown. She was a homemaker, member
of Hephzibah Baptist Church and member of the Garden
Club. Mrs. Manders was a great community worker in
her younger years. She helped number the streets, a poll
worker, scout leader, driving the bus for needy children
and a paper carrier. She loved her town, always being there
Survivors include her son, William Manders, Jr. of
Thomson; two sisters, Mrs. Stella Riddle, Albany and
Ruby Nieves, Melbourne, FL; two brothers, Ellis (Curt)
Goldman, Albany and Conny (Gene) Goldman, who just
recently moved from Grovetown to Florida.
Mrs. Manders was preceded in death by her parents,
Dewey and Mabel Powell Goldman. Starling Funeral
Home was in charge of arrangements.
