Mr. Rudolph "Rudy" McCorkle
Retired Truck Driver
GIBSON, Ga. - Mr. Rudolph "Rudy" McCorkle, 80, of
Gibson, entered into rest Wednesday, April 28, 2010, at
his residence.
Funeral services were held at 3 p.m., at Magnolia Baptist
Church with Rev. Adrian Burrell officiating. Interment was
in the Church Cemetery.
Born August 26, 1929 in McDuffie County, he resided
in Glascock County since 1957. He was a member of Silver
Run Baptist Church in Harlem and attended Magnolia
Baptist Church in Gibson. He was a retired truck driver
with Bowman Transportation Company.
He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Mrs. Irma
"Polly" Usry McCorkle; one daughter, Dianne (Jim) Hall
of Thomson, one step grandchild, Misty Hall and one great
step grandchild, Savannah Hall, both of Ft. Mill, S.C.;
two sisters, Rubye Wells of Harlem and Jean Holloway of
Martinez. He was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur
and Ellie Whitaker McCorkle; four brothers, Watson,
Rance, Robert and Edward; one sister, Katherine Allen.
Pallbearers awere Joe Dean Usry, Jody Usry, Mike Chance,
Warren Hart, Les Newsome, and Steve Frew.
Memorials may be made to the Magnolia Baptist Church
Cemetery Fund in care of Mr. Louis Swint, 290 Swint Road,
Gibson, Ga. 30810.
Sheppard Funeral Home, Gibson, Ga., was in charge of
