Sturgies completes training
Mr. and Mrs. Marion Sturgis of Thomson proudly announce that their daughter, Ashley Marissa Sturgis, has completed 13 weeks of vigorous basic training in the United States Marine Corps, Parris Island, Beaufort, S.C. The graduation parade and ceremony was held on Friday, April 23, 2010 at 9 a.m. on the Peatross Parade Deck. During training she was meritoriously promoted to PFC. She will begin her MCT (Marine Combat Training) on May 23 at Camp Lejune in North Carolina for 29 days and will continue on for her (MOS) Military Occupational Specialty in Virginia.
