Hospital is 'Pink Ribbon Facility '

McDuffie Regional Medical Center has been designated as a Pink Ribbon Facility for Excellence in Breast Health and "in recognition for commitment and support to the women of our community". This award follows the addition of the Hologic Selenia Digital Mammography System which was installed March, 2010. The purchase of the Digital System was made possible, in part, by the generous donation of $100,000 from the McDuffie Regional Medical Center Foundation.

The Foundation raises money each year by sponsoring the Ray Guy Golf Classic golf tournament. With these tournament proceeds, the Foundation is able to create and promote health education programs and expand the health care services available to the communities we serve. MRMC appreciates the Foundation's commitment to quality health care for our community.

Breast Cancer is the most common cancer in women, other than skin cancer.

One in eight women will develop breast cancer in her lifetime; but when detected early, it can be cured. Mammography screening is the best way to detect breast cancer in its earlier stages and it saves lives. MRMC is your local partner in the fight against this disease.

To schedule your screening mammogram, contact your primary physician. If you have questions about this important health exam, contact the Radiology Department at 706-597-5361.
