Several defendants recently were sentenced in McDuffie County Superior Court after pleading guilty to various crimes, according to court records.
Tywaun Dantrail Burley, of the 600 block of Boulevard Drive, Thomson, pleaded guilty to Violation of the Georgia Controlled Substances Act (VGCSA) for possession of marijuana with intent to distribute.
Toombs Judicial Circuit Superior Court Chief Judge Roger W. Dunaway, Jr. credited Ms. Burley with time already served in jail, five years probation, fined her $1,000 and ordered her to pay all court costs.
Her sentencing came under the First Offender Act.
In separate cases, the following defendants were sentenced:
Deon K. Brown, of the 400 block of Bussey Avenue, Thomson, charged with one count of VGCSA for possession of marijuana with intent to distribute. He was sentenced to three years probation, fined $750 and ordered to pay all court costs;
Reynolds Tyrone Grant, of the 3600 block of Dearing Acres Road, Dearing, charged with VGCSA for possession of a controlled substance (Hydrocodone) with intent to distribute. He was sentenced to three years in confinement with a sentenced already being served; and
Terrell Smith, of the 1200 block of Cobbham Road, Thomson, charged with VGCSA for manufacturing marijuana and possession of drug related objects.
He was credited with time already served in jail and sentenced to five years probation, fined $1,000 and ordered to pay all court costs. On the second count, he was sentenced to serve 12 months probation. Mr. Smith was sentenced under the First Offender Act.
