Below is Patrice's essay.
If I were mayor, I would first make more places kids and children could hang out and have fun at. I would clean up the parks and put new equipment in the parks. I would fix up buildings and turn them into after-school-clubs and programs.
If I were mayor, I would then fix up my town and plant flowers and trees on the corners. I would repaint old buildings. I would most definitely keep the town clean and pick up trash that I see laying around.
If I were mayor, I would next give food to the homeless once a month. I would give homeless advice to try and get them off the streets. I would try to help them get jobs and houses.
If I were mayor, I would then make a homeless shelter for dogs, cats and animals that need help. I would put a zoo in town and buy animals to go in the zoo. I would try to find the animals a home.
If I were mayor, I would finally buy this building and name it "T's and The Family", and give it to my mom. She has always planned on having her own restaurant. I would also make this program called "Make a Wish," and pick one person's wish every month.
If I were mayor, I would. ... change my town and people's life.
