Hidden pigs will have surprises

Every weekend in July, a Pig O'Cache will be hidden in McDuffie County. The caches are painted pigs that hold a special surprise for the finder! GPS coordinates will be posted on Friday on the Hickory Hill official Facebook page AND on the Explore McDuffie County Web site. Coordinates also will be aired on WTHO.

Start your search and locate the caches using a hand-held GPS unit. The cache containers are ceramic piggy banks painted with a watermelon motif.

When you find a Pig O' Cache, log your name and any comments on the logbook inside the cache. There is a "First to Find" prize in each Pig O'Cache.

When the new cache is placed, the old cache will be removed. On Saturday, August 7, a final Pig O'Cache will be placed. Coordinates and clues for the final cache must be picked up at the Watson-Brown table at the Tom Watson Watermelon Festival.

They will not be available online.

The Watermelon Festival is free. It takes place from 9:00am -- 3:30pm on Saturday, August 7 at Hickory Hill, 502 Hickory Hill Drive, in Thomson, GA. For information call 706-595-8886 or 706-595-7777.
