Mr. Max Dixon
Retired D.O.T.
STAPLETON, Ga. - Mr. Max Dixon, 75 of
Stapleton, entered into rest July 12, 2010, at
Gibson Health and Rehabilitation.
Funeral services were held at 3 p.m., Thursday,
July 15, 2010, at the Beggs Funeral Home Chapel
with Rev. Mike Sutphin officiating. Interment
followed at Savannah Valley Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers were Lee Thigpen, Travis Rabun, Bill Bonner, Jimmy
Newsome, Joshua Withrow and James "Ted" Cooper.
Mr. Dixon was born in Avera, and was the son of the late John
Thomas Dixon and the late Inez May Dixon. He was retired as
a heavy equipment operator from the Georgia Department of
Transportation after 33 years of service.
Survivors include his daughter, Lisa Tyree and husband, Dennis
of Ft. Walton Beach, FL; stepchildren, Angela Hochell, Thomson,
Wilbur Thigpen, Thomson, Wynette Zilinski, Deland, Fl, Albert
Sheppard, Canton, GA; brothers, Lewis Dixon, Avera, Bill Dixon,
Allan, Oklahoma; sister, edith Poteet, Augusta; grandson, Steve
Cochran, numerous step-grandchildren and a special friend,
Shirley Dye.
Beggs Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
