Mr. Byron Gay
DEARING, Ga. - Mr. Byron Gay, 61, passed away Wednesday
July 14, 2010.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Sunday, July 18, 2010,
at Starling Funeral Home with the Revs. James McCullum and
Bobby Renew officiating. Interment was in the Walker Cemetery.
Mr. Byron was born in Augusta and was a lifelong resident of
Dearing. He had worked at SRS and was a member of the United
Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners of America Local Union
283.
Survivors include his mother Sarah Gay, Dearing; the mother
of his children Mary Ormsbee, Dearing; one son, Byron Joseph
(Joey) Gay, Atlanta; two daughters, Laurie Overton (Joey), Dearing
and Leslie Overton (Bud) , Waynesboro; one brother Ralph Gay
(Melvis), Dearing; grandchildren Amber Overton, Trevor Overton
and Kimberly Carey; and one great-granddaughter Madison Carey;
and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father Gordon Gay and a sister
Edith Ann Black.
Starling Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
