Mrs. Eula S. Hawkins

THOMSON, Ga. - Mrs. Eula S. Hawkins, 84, widow of Mr.
Ralph Hawkins, died Sunday, July 18, 2010, in the University
Hospital.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 21, in
the Thomson First Baptist Church with Dr. James Ramsey and
Rev. Tim Ferrell officiating. Burial was in the Savannah Valley
Memorial Gardens.
Mrs. Hawkins was a native of Loco, Ga., but had lived in
Thomson for many years. She had retired from BellSouth with
40 years of service. She was a member of Thomson First Baptist
Church where she was a member of the Ruth Sunday School Class.
She was also a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Mr. Ralph Hawkins;
her sister, Mrs. Harriet Burton; and her brother, Mr. Albert
Strother.
Survivors include her sons, David Hawkins, and Bob Rogers,
both of Thomson; her two sisters, Lois Thornton, and Rebecca
Gobble, both of Thomson; her grandchildren, Marc Rogers, Heidi
Rogers, Hope Rogers, Heath Rogers, Hunter Rogers, Holden
Rogers, Kim Hawkins, Chris Hawkins, Christopher Hinton, Brian
Ashley, and Justin Wallace. She has eight great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Jerry Randolph, Harold Harbin, Otis Harrison,
Charles Hanson, Frank Thigpen, and Henry Fluker. Honorary
Pallbearers were the Thomson Fire Rescue.
Memorials may be made to the Thomson First Baptist Church
Building Fund.
Curtis Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
