Mr. Lamar Shelton
Southeastern Stages
AUGUSTA, Ga. - Mr. Lamar Shelton, 84 of Augusta, entered
into rest July 19, 2010 at Trinity Hospital. He was the beloved
husband of the late Ruth Yearwood Shelton.
Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Thursday, July 22, 2010
at the Beggs Funeral Home Chapel with Revs. James Bland and
Charlie Deloach officiating. Interment followed in the Prospect
United Methodist Church Cemetery with Masonic Rites.
Pallbearers were members of the George Walton Masonic
Lodge # 699. Honorary pallbearers were members of the
Bayvale Baptist Church Senior Adult Men's Sunday School
Class.
Mr. Shelton was born in Warren County, and was the son
of the late Waymon Henry Shelton and the late Susie Harper
Shelton. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and
was retired as a bus driver for Southeastern Stages after 36 years.
He was a member of Bayvale Baptist Church, a member of the
George Walton Lodge # 699, the Scottish Rite of Augusta and
the Martinez Order of the Eastern Star #464.
Survivors include his sons; Wayne L. Shelton of East Lyme,
Connecticut and John H. Shelton and wife Lynn of Augusta;
two grandchildren, Heather Young and husband Chris, April
Shelton; and great-grandchild, Sophie Shelton.

Norwood, GA 30821.
Beggs Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
