Mr. Robert Durham Prescott
GIBSON, Ga. - Mr. Robert Durham Prescott, 90, husband to the
late Mary Chalker Reese Prescott and the late Lillian Mays Prescott,
entered into rest Saturday evening, July 31, 2010 at Gibson Health
and Rehabilitation Center.
Funeral services were held Monday, August 2, 2010, at 11 a.m. in
the James Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Stan Littleton officiating.
Interment followed in the Hillcrest Memorial Park Mausoleum,
Augusta.
Mr. Prescott" was born to the late Claudia Dye and Robert
P. Prescott in Jefferson County. He retired from Fort Gordon as
supervisor of heavy-duty equipment maintenance. He enjoyed
square dancing, traveling, cooking, fishing and camping. His family
and friends will miss his warm smile and good- natured laugh.
Survivors include his three children, Lorraine P. Nutter (Don),
Plainsville, MI, Marian Lamb (Tom), Wrens, and Merv Reese
(Ginger), Thomson; a brother, Eugene "Gene" Prescott; 10
grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews
and many friends.
Pallbearers were B. J. Thompson, Charles Harper, Olin Mathis,
Robert E. Prescott, Moses Griswell, Jr., and Winnard Chalker.
James Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
