ATLANTA, Ga. - Mrs. Mary Lou Wilson, 63, beloved wife
of Mr. John W. (Jay) Wilson Jr. and the daughter of the late
Dr. and Mrs. Thomas E. Averitt, died Thursday, August 5,
2010, in the Medical College of Georgia Medical Center.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Monday, August 9,
in the Knox Chapel of the Thomson First United Methodist
Church with Rev. Charles Broome officiating. Burial was in
the Watson-Wilson Family Cemetery.
Mrs. Wilson was a native of Louisville, Kentucky and grew
up in Winchester, Kentucky. She recently had made her
home in Atlanta and Thomson. She attended the University
of Kentucky School of Architecture. She was a homemaker.
She attended Whole Life Ministries in Augusta.
Survivors include her husband, Mr. John W. (Jay) Wilson
Jr., Thomson; a godchild, Lindsey Berglund Cheney,
Atlanta; three sisters, Jane Guerrant, Thomson, Deborah
Dougher, Chattanooga, and Melissa Averitt, Lawrenceville;
two brothers, Thomas Averitt Jr., Greer, S.C. and Rev. John
Averitt, Thomasville Al.; two nephews, Will R. Guerrant
and Joel James Averitt; two nieces, Louise Frances Averitt
and Alix Rose Averitt; and her mother-in-law, Mrs. Lucy
Wilson, Thomson.
Pallbearers were Bob Wilson Jr., Jim Wilson, Glenn
Wilson, Epp Wilson, Reid Berglund, Johnny Martin Reid
Jr., Rusty Lovelace and Bob Knox Jr.
