Mr. Armand Allyn Algier, Sr.
Georgia Public Service Commission
THOMSON, Ga. - Mr. Armand Allyn Algier, Sr. of
Thomson, entered into rest August 15, 2010, at the
University Hospital.
Memorial services were held at 11 a.m., Wednesday,
August 18, 2010, at the Beggs Funeral Home Chapel with
Brother Jerry McNutt officiating.
Mr. Algier was born in Hartford, Connecticut and was the
son of the late Albert Algier and the late Charlotte Palmer
Algier. He lived in McDuffie and Columbia County Georgia
for over 25 years. Mr. Algier served in the U. S. Navy during
Korea and Vietnam and retired after 20 years of service.
He also retired as Major from the Georgia Public Service
Commission after 18 years. Mr. Algier was a founding
member of the Lighthouse Pentecostal Church in Thomson.
Survivors include his wife, Leveda C. Algier, Thomson;
sons, Daniel Whittle (Barbara), Ambrose, GA and J.R.
Algier, Mitchell, GA; daughter, Diane Chaney (Leroy), West
Green, GA; three sisters, six grandchildren and eight greatgrandchildren.
Memorials may be made to the National Kidney
Foundation or to the American Heart Association .
Beggs Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
