Last week's mystery item from the past is part of a new, temporary exhibit at the McDuffie Museum. It is a "time calculating" device created by the late Thomson artist Zebedee Armstrong. The visionary artist used cardboard, wood and paint to create many time-counting pieces. Mr. Armstrong also used this particular piece in a self-portrait. The museum is open from noon until 5 p.m., Tuesday through Saturday and from 2-5 p.m., Sunday.
