Mrs. Linda Lucas Hopkins
WASHINGTON, Ga. - Mrs. Linda Lucas Hopkins, 66, of
Washington, died Thursday morning, September 9, 2010, at
Tranquility Hospice in Austell, Ga.
Mrs. Hopkins was a native of Washington, Ga. and was the
daughter of the late Cicero Lucas and Dicye Hendry Lucas. She was a
graduate of Duke University and was a retired medical technologist
at Wills Memorial Hospital. She was a member of the Washington
Presbyterian Church.
Graveside services were held Sunday, September 12, 2010, at 3
p.m. at Resthaven Cemetery with Rev. Sid Hopkins and Rev. Stacey
Rushing officiating.
Pallbearers were Ro Lucas, Alan Cowart, Joe Averette, Jerry
Hackney, Jeff Hackney, and Jim Hackney.
Mrs. Hopkins is survived by her husband, Bill Hopkins, Jr.
of Washington; one son, Bill (Lori) Hopkins III of Thomson;
three sisters, Bootsie Averette of Hephzibah, Ga., Jean Cowart of
Marietta, Ga., and Mildred Hackney of Washington; one brother,
Cicero Lucas of Athens, Ga.; and two grandchildren, Savannah
Hopkins and Lucas Hopkins.
