A sting operation by officers with the Thomson Police Department has led to the arrest of a 30-year-old local man in connection with delivering illegal drugs and leaving them in mailboxes.
As a result of that case being solved, police also have arrested a woman as a suspect in connection with reportedly buying drugs from him.
Investigator Capt. J. Bridges identified the suspect as Timothy Artemas Jackson, of the 100 block of Idas Drive. Mr. Jackson has been charged with Violation of the Georgia Controlled Substances Act, Capt. Bridges said.
Following his arrest, Mr. Jackson was taken to the McDuffie County Law Enforcement Center.
"This is a case we were able to solve with the help of a concerned citizen," Capt. Bridges said.
The other arrest made in the case is that of Susan Owens, 52, of the 1600 block of Washington Road, Thomson, Capt. Bridges said. Ms. Owens also was charged with Violation of the Georgia Controlled Substances Act.
Capt. Bridges was assisted in the case by Cpl. Josh Caston.
