A 20-year-old Dearing man has been arrested as a suspect in a residential break-in, authorities say.
McDuffie County Sheriff's Department Investigator Al Reeves identified the suspect as Marquis Preston Wade, of the 2000 block of Ellington-Airline Road.
Mr. Wade, who was taken into custody last Friday morning after reportedly being questioned about the crime, since has been charged with one felony count of burglary, Investigator Reeves said.
He is jailed in the McDuffie County Law Enforcement Center.
The suspect is accused of breaking into a residence on the 100 block of Guy Road near Thomson by "manipulating" a locked rear door, Investigator Reeves said.
Stolen was a Toshiba laptop computer, a Sony PlayStation with miscellaneous games, as well as $122 in cash, the investigator said.
A couple of the items since have been recovered. Other items still are unaccounted for.
