Mr. Albert Hill
MITCHELL, Ga. - Mr. Albert Hill, 60, of Mitchell, and formerly
of McDonough, Georgia and High Wycombe, UK, peacefully
passed away the morning of September 25, 2010 at home with his
He fought a courageous six-year battle with cancer and is
survived by his wife of 35 years, Margaret; daughter, Amanda and
granddaughter, Madison, both of Smyrna; sons John and James
of Dunwoody; their respective partners Julia Huynh and Adela
Jackson, both of Atlanta; and daughter Meagan Hill Copeland and
son-in-law Shane Copeland, both of Amarillo, Texas; sisters Lydia
of Harlow, UK, Natasha of High Wycombe, UK, and Ruth of Brye
de Saint Amand, Belgium; and brother Henry of Prestatyn, Wales,
UK. He is preceded by Albert and Lucie Hill of High Wycombe,
He was co-owner of an air freight trucking company and horse
rescue farm, faithful member of Knights of Columbus Council 6981
at Queen of Angels Parish in Thomson, and an avid follower of
British football. He and Margaret emigrated from High Wycombe,
UK in 1979 and resided in the south Atlanta area until moving to
Mitchell in 2008.
Albert requested memorials be made in lieu of flowers or other
offerings to Knights of Columbus Council 6981, c/o Queen of
Angels, 1326 Washington Road, Thomson, Georgia 30824 and/or
Glascock County Concerned Citizens for Cancer, Post Office Box
116, Gibson, Georgia 30810.
Viewing the body will take place at Sheppards Funeral Home in
Gibson on Friday, October 1, 2010 from 7 - 9 p.m. and at Queen of
Angels Parish in Thomson on Saturday, October 2, 2010 from 12:
30 - 1:30 p.m.
Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, October 2, 2010
at 1:30 p.m. at Queen of Angels Parish in Thomson. Interment will
follow at the family's farm in Mitchell.
