Mrs. Evelyn Rucker Richards
THOMSON, Ga. - Mrs. Evelyn Rucker Richards, 95, died
September 16, 2010, at the BJC Nursing Home in Commerce,
Ga. Born in Rayle, Ga., she was the daughter of the late Charles E.
and Eva Cosby Echols and was preceded in death by her husbands,
George Luther Rucker, Sr. and Claude N. Richards.
She is survived by her son, George Luther Rucker, Jr. and wife
Pat of Jefferson, Ga., grandchildren, step-grandchildren, and great
grandchildren.
She was a longtime member of the Thomson United Methodist
Church and the OSME Bible study group. Evelyn was a retired
employee of Hadaway's Department Store in Thomson.
A memorial service was held Sunday, October 3, 2010 at 4 p.m.
at the Thomson First United Methodist Church, Knox Chapel
with the Rev. Beverly Wilkerson Casstevens officiating.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the
First United Methodist Church of Thomson.
Lord and Stephens, East, Athens, GA was in charge of
arrangements.
