Charles Boyd Miller
Chief Tax Administration Adviser, Internal Revenue Service

The memorial service for Mr. Charles Boyd Miller, 93, of Augusta, will be held Monday, October 18, 2:00 pm at Westview Cemetery, Thomson, GA with Rev. Roy McVeigh officiating. Mr. Miller was born September 29, 1916 in Screven County to Joel Hurt Miller and Leila Belle Morris Miller. He died January 11,2010 at Doctor's Hospital in Augusta. He had retired from the IRS after 39 years of service. During his career he was located in Washington, DC; Tallahassee, FL; Atlanta, GA; the US Embassy in Panama and in Jamaica. He received his undergraduate degree in accounting and graduated from Woodrow Wilson College of Law, Atlanta, GA in 1960. He was a member of the Sigma Delta Kappa Law Fraternity. He was a WWII veteran serving in France, Germany, the Philippines and Japan. He was a member of the Kiwanis Club. Before moving to Augusta he was a long time member of Peachtree Road UMC where he served as a Sunday school teacher and Church Treasurer. When they moved to Augusta in 1992, they became members of Trinity on the Hill United Methodist Church where he served as an usher. Survivors include his wife of 64 years Thomson native Frances Ivey Miller and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by their son, Charles Raney Miller. Memorials may be made to the Nehemiah Project at Trinity on the Hill United Methodist Church, Augusta, GA.
