Mrs. Carolyn Newsome Padgett
Clearwater Finishing Plant
WARRENTON, Ga. - Mrs. Carolyn Newsome Padgett, 81 of
Warrenton, entered into rest October 18, 2010 at her residence.
She was the beloved wife of Hill Padgett and the late Eugene
Newsome.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m., Thursday, October 21,
2010 at the Beggs Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Randy Dunaway
officiating. Interment followed in Savannah Valley Memorial
Gardens.
Pallbearers were Larry Story, Brad Story, David Welch, W. C.
Land, Donald Ray Padgett, Vernon Newsome and Lamar Hinton.
Mrs. Padgett was born in Glascock County, Georgia and was the
daughter of the late Earl Smith and the late Mary Laura Chalker
Smith. She lived most of her life in Aiken County, S.C., where
she retired from the Clearwater Finishing Plant as a cloth room
inspector with over 25 years of service. Mrs. Padgett also lived
in McDuffie County, before moving to Warren County in 1996.
She was a member of Eureka Baptist Church. Mrs. Padgett was a
devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
Survivors include her husband, Hill Padgett of Warrenton; sons,
Randy Newsome and wife Mary of Wrens, Eddie Newsome and
wife Joy of Bath,SC; daughter, Brenda Story and husband Bennie of
Warrenton; seven grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Padgett was preceded in death by a son, Ronnie Newsome;
brother Earl Smith and sisters, Earline Padgett and Hazel
Hunnicutt.
Beggs Funeral Home Was in charge of arrangements.
