Mr. Charles Cooper Cranford, Sr.
Retired Electrician
WARRENTON, Ga. - Mr. Charles Cooper Cranford, Sr. age 67,
beloved husband of 44 years to Mrs. Susan Van Dyke Cranford, went
to be with the Lord Thursday October 21, 2010 at his residence.
Funeral services were held at 3 p.m., Sunday, October 24, 2010,
at the First Baptist Church of Thomson with the Rev. Charles
C. Cranford, Jr., Dr. Leonard Dupree, and Dr. James Ramsey
officiating. Private interment services were held in the Long Creek
Baptist Church Cemetery.
Mr. Cranford a native of Summerville, SC , had been a resident of
Thomson for 35 years before moving to Warrenton in 2009. He was
a retired electrician with civil service serving at the Charleston Naval
Shipyard, Fort Gordon, and the VA Hospital. A active member of
the First Baptist Church of Thomson. Mr. Cranford served as a
deacon and Sunday School Teacher at Thomson Manor Nursing
Home. He will be remembered as a Friend to all man kind.
Additional survivors include his daughter and son in law, Carla
Cranford (Wayne, Jr.) McMahan, of Taylors, SC, his son and
daughter in law, Rev. Charles Cooper (Deann) Cranford, Jr. of
Dacula, GA, four grandchildren, Annie Cranford, Lily Cranford,
Polly McMahan, and Walter McMahan, three brothers, Clayborne
Cranford, of Summerville, SC, Eley Wagnon, of Decatur, Ga and
Jimmy Wagnon, of Ruston, LA.
In lieu of flowers, the family request that memorials be made to
the World Hunger Fund, C/O First Baptist Church of Thomson,
235 Jackson Street Thomson, GA 30824.
Lowe Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
