Three arrested for damage to club

Three people have been arrested by local authorities stemming from recent damages in excess of $6,000 at Thomson Country Club.

McDuffie County Sheriff's Department Investigator Al Reeves identified the suspects as:

Sylvia Taylor, 21, of the 100 block of Prather Street, Dearing;

Steven Nicholson, 25, of the 1400 block of Wire Road, Thomson; and

Christopher Willis, 22, of the 4400 block of Hillman-Gay Road, Dearing.

They were taken into custody on Tuesday, Oct. 26, Investigator Reeves said.

Each of them is charged with criminal damage to property in the second degree.

They were jailed in the McDuffie County Law Enforcement Center. Bond was set at $10,000 each.

The suspects are accused of having driven a 4x4 pickup truck across the greens and doing doughnuts on several of them, Investigator Reeves said.

The incident occurred between 2 a.m. and 3 a.m. on Sunday, Oct. 24.

"The estimated damages will exceed $6,000," Investigator Reeves said.
