DEARING, Ga. -- A Jefferson County woman and her former boyfriend have been arrested on assorted criminal charges involving the woman's ex-husband, local authorities say.
McDuffie County Sheriff's Department Investigator Larry Adaway named the suspects as:
Kerry Dewitt Hadden, 32, of the 1200 block of Green Street, Avera;
Joseph Wayne Frost, 29, of the 100 block of Creekside Way, Metter.
Investigator Adaway said they each were charged with two felony counts of criminal damage to property in the second degree and one misdemeanor count of theft by taking. Warrants were served on Nov. 2. The suspects still are being held without bond.
Investigator Adaway said Ms. Hadden has been divorced from the victim, whose name was not made public, for nine years. The charges are as a result of incidents that occurred at the residence of the victim between June and July 2008.
"The family at this residence was victimized by these subjects on six different occasions during this time period in an attempt to terrorize and harass them," Investigator Adaway said.
He said Ms. Hadden and her ex-husband have argued child custody since the divorce.
Investigator Adaway cited some of the following incidents as having taken place against the victim: Flattening all four tires on three vehicles on two different occasions; cutting the brake line on two vehiclesinor accident in the victim's yard; cutting the seat of a vehicle; spray painting three vehicles; and stealing a mailbox on three occasions.
