Mrs. Jenelle Linnenkohl Belk

Mrs. Jenelle Linnenkohl Belk, 84, of Eatonton, Ga., beloved wife, mother, grandmother and treasured friend of many, died on November 4, 2010. Jenelle was born on June 16, 1926 in Tignall, Ga., living later in Wrens and Thomson, before spending much of her life in Sandy Springs, Ga. Jenelle graduated from Southern Business University in 1945. Jenelle worked for Atlanta Aggregate, a subsidiary of Birmingham Slag Co., in downtown Atlanta, 1945-1956. She was married for 57 wonderful years to the late Robert Michael Belk, formerly of Cairo, Georgia, on October 22, 1950. Jenelle worked for the Fulton County School System for many years at Sutton Middle School and North Fulton High School as a secretary to the principals in each school, retiring in 1986 to move and live at Lake Oconee, Eatonton, Georgia. Many students admired her, came to her with their problems and some even called her "Mom" long after she retired. She is survived by her two loving children, daughter, Jennifer Linn and son-in-law, Derek Todd of Roswell, Georgia, son, Charles Michael and granddaughter, Kimberly Linn Belk of Graniteville, South Carolina, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and dear friends. Appreciation is expressed to the Cumberland Hills staff, Aiken, South Carolina, and especially Day Break Adult Care Services and Liberty Hospice for their compassionate and competent care. A service celebrating Jenelle's life was held at Arlington Chapel on Tuesday, November 9, 2010 at 10:30 a.m. Interment followed at Arlington Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to a charity of their choice in memory of Jenelle Belk. Arrangements by H.M. Patterson and Son.
