Mrs. Jenelle Linnenkohl Belk
Mrs. Jenelle Linnenkohl Belk, 84, of Eatonton, Ga., beloved
wife, mother, grandmother and treasured friend of many, died on
November 4, 2010.
Jenelle was born on June 16, 1926 in Tignall, Ga., living later
in Wrens and Thomson, before spending much of her life in Sandy
Springs, Ga. Jenelle graduated from Southern Business University
in 1945. Jenelle worked for Atlanta Aggregate, a subsidiary of
Birmingham Slag Co., in downtown Atlanta, 1945-1956. She was
married for 57 wonderful years to the late Robert Michael Belk,
formerly of Cairo, Georgia, on October 22, 1950. Jenelle worked
for the Fulton County School System for many years at Sutton
Middle School and North Fulton High School as a secretary to the
principals in each school, retiring in 1986 to move and live at Lake
Oconee, Eatonton, Georgia. Many students admired her, came to
her with their problems and some even called her "Mom" long after
she retired.
She is survived by her two loving children, daughter, Jennifer
Linn and son-in-law, Derek Todd of Roswell, Georgia, son, Charles
Michael and granddaughter, Kimberly Linn Belk of Graniteville,
South Carolina, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and dear
friends.
Appreciation is expressed to the Cumberland Hills staff, Aiken,
South Carolina, and especially Day Break Adult Care Services and
Liberty Hospice for their compassionate and competent care.
A service celebrating Jenelle's life was held at Arlington Chapel
on Tuesday, November 9, 2010 at 10:30 a.m. Interment followed
at Arlington Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to a charity of
their choice in memory of Jenelle Belk. Arrangements by H.M.
Patterson and Son.
