James McGaw is honored by Cambridge Who's Who

James A. McGaw of Dearing, historian, singer, songwriter and musician for HammerJam Productions, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for demonstrating dedication, leadership and excellence in musical performance.

At HammerJam Productions, Mr. McGaw is responsible for composing music and performing on the hammered and eastern mountain dulcimers, and other instruments. He also conducts seminars and workshops, and participates in musical events and special programs. With 40 years of professional experience, his expertise is in songwriting. Mr. McGaw also is employed as a grants administrator, working to help local teachers update mathematics curricula. He attributes his success to his education and the support he received from his parents.

In 1977, Mr. McGaw received a master's degree in theater from Ohio University. He belongs to the Masonic Order and is a deacon at his local Presbyterian church. He also is an Ohio State dulcimer champion and a member of the 2011 touring roster for the Georgia Council for the Arts. Mr. McGaw's goal is to become known around the world for his teaching skills in music and history. He also hopes to excel as a musician and vocalist, and write and record a hit song.
