Thomson man indicted on rape charge

A 31-year-old Thomson man has been indicted by a McDuffie County grand jury in connection with a sexual assault on a young woman earlier this year.

Lincoln Clinton McGahee, of the 900 block of Scott Court, was indicted last week on charges of rape, aggravated assault and burglary, according to records filed in the McDuffie County Superior Court Clerk's Office.

Mr. McGahee, who remains jailed in the McDuffie County Law Enforcement Center, is accused of breaking into the home of a young woman and her 1-year-old child by climbing through a bathroom window.

Once inside, authorities say, the suspect entered the bedroom of the woman and sexually assaulted her while her baby lay in the bed.

McDuffie County Sheriff's Office Investigator Al Reeves said that after the attack the suspect produced a knife. He reportedly placed it against the victim's chest, telling her he would kill her if she told anyone.

In unrelated cases, grand jurors also returned true bill of indictments against the following defendants:

Draper L. Lucas, statutory rape;

Darryl Lucas, Jr., child molestation;

Megan T. Millwood, Keith D. Nelson, Walter Parker Jr. and Irving T. Schultz, each indicted on charges of armed robbery, kidnapping, aggravated assault and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony;

Christopher Daniel Shedd, aggravated assault on a police officer and obstruction of a law enforcement officer;

Reco M. Jackson, aggravated assault, possession of a dangerous weapon and interference with government property;

Harvey L. Murphy, criminal damage to property in the first degree;

Joshua Reese, two counts of burglary, entering a motor vehicle and theft by taking;

Charles Hill Jr., aggravated assault, possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime;

Johnny E. Lane Jr. and Jamal D. Taylor, aggravated battery;

Joseph Lonergan, cruelty to children in the first degree and false imprisonment;

William Ike Marlow Jr., aggravated assault, battery, cruelty to children in the third degree and Violation of the Georgia Controlled Substances Act;

Steven Wayne Blackwell, aggravated assault, criminal damage to property in the second degree and cruelty to children in the third degree;

Jerome A. Bowdry, simple battery;

Cassius J. Glover, aggravated assault;

Timothy W. Hill, also known as Timothy W. Hills, simple battery and two counts of criminal trespass;

Janie L. Braddock, theft by taking;

Eddie D. Brockington, failure to register as a sex offender;

Cathie Rebecca McNutt Edison, burglary;

Benjamin Fuller, theft by taking;

Geoffrey Graham, child molestation and aggravated child molestation;

Mitchell W. Hall, criminal damage to property in the first degree;

Reginald Hudson, Gene Reese and William R. Wyche, each indicted on four counts of burglary;

Charles A. Scott Jr., Candy A. Taylor, Russell W. Taylor and Tiffany R. Webb, entering a motor vehicle and financial transaction card theft;

Cedrick B. Smith, also known as Cedric Smith, crossing guard lines with drugs, Violation of the Georgia Controlled Substances Act and obstruction of a law enforcement officer;

Kentavis Wright, aggravated assault;

Dameon Shanchez Anderson, violation of the Georgia Controlled Substances Act;

Denagelo Barbour, Ouantavious McGahee, Phillip McIver, Brian Walker, Christopher Walker and William Walker -- all indicted on violation of the Georgia Controlled Substances Act. Brian Walker also was indicted on a charge of possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony;

Travis Ray Benson, theft by taking;

Tremayne B. Bradshaw, violation of the Georgia Controlled Substances Act;

Quinton D. Lacount, violation of the Georgia Controlled Substances Act, suspended license and failure to wear a seat safety belt;

Sardae N. Norman, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon;

Terri Lynn Stephenson Paulk, two counts of violation of the Georgia Controlled Substances Act;

Jamie Peel, obstruction of a law enforcement officer and disorderly conduct;

Bobby A. Speaks, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and violation of the Georgia Controlled Substances Act;

Heather H. Thaxton, theft of medications obtained by fraudulent means;

Eddie L. Wright, theft by receiving stolen property and attempting to elude a police officer;

Octavis A. Wright, violation of the Georgia Controlled Substances Act; and

Frankie Lee Carter, Sr., Reginald Charles Reese and Patrick Reynolds Welch -- each indicted on a charge of theft by taking.
