DEARING, Ga. - Mrs. Betty P. Hillman, 71, widow of Mr.
Alvin "Smokey" Hillman, died Friday, December 10, 2010, at her
residence.
Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Sunday, December 12, in
the Fort Creek Baptist Church with Dr. Phil Bray and Rev. Jimmy
Martin officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery.
Mrs. Hillman was a life long resident of McDuffie County. She
was a homemaker and a faithful member of Fort Creek Baptist
Church and choir. She loved her flowers and her garden.
Mrs. Hillman was preceded in death by her husband, Mr. Alvin
L."Smokey" Hillman and her parents, Claude and Nellie Parrish.
Survivors include her son, Mr. Danny Hillman, Dearing; her
two brothers, Mr. Robert W. Parrish, Midway and Mr. James
(Louise) Parrish, New Ellenton, S.C.; her grandson, James Turner
and her two great-grandchildren, Rylan Turner and Mason Turner.
Pallbearers were Lenny Hobbs, Jack McCorkle, Don McCorkle,
Gerald McGahee, David McGahee, Tony Dunn, Randy McCorkle,
and Randy Walden. Honorary pallbearers were members of the
Adult Womens Sunday School Class of Fort Creek Baptist Church.
Curtis Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
