Mrs. Thelma Christine Newman Hearn
HARLEM, Ga. - Mrs. Thelma Christine Newman Hearn, 83,
wife of the late U.S. Army Staff Sergeant Henry W. Hearn, entered
into rest Tuesday, December 7, 2010.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, December 9,
2010, at Dearing Full Gospel Church with the Rev. Eddie Renew
and Rev. Jerry Rockefeller officiating. Interment was in Harlem
Memorial Cemetery.
Mrs. Hearn was born in McDuffie County to the late William S.
Newman Sr. and Viola T. Whitaker. She was a member of Dearing
Full Gospel Church.
Survivors include two daughters, Yiola Hearn, Hinesville, and
Barbara (William) Miles, Appling; one son Retired Marine Corp
Master Gunnery Sergeant William W. Hearn (Shelly), Bransford,
Florida; daughter-in-law Mary Kathy Hearn; one sister, Marjorie
Branon, Harlem; and seven grandchildren and eight greatgrandchildren;
and many nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by her son, Rev. Henry Ray Hearn
and brother, William S. Newman, Jr.
Starling Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
