A teenage driver and his younger brother were injured after the driver lost control of his car and overturned near Dearing last Friday morning.
Sgt. Ritchie Howard, of the Georgia State Patrol post in Grovetown, said the wreck happened in a sharp curve on Hobbs Mill Road not far from Dearing Acres Road about 6:30 a.m.
The trooper identified the injured as Wykey Lane, 16, and his 6-year-old brother, Jordan Lane, both of Dearing.
The two boys were treated at the scene by personnel with the McDuffie County Emergency Medical Services and firefighters/first responders with the McDuffie County Fire/Rescue Services. They were taken by ambulance to the emergency room of McDuffie Regional Medical Center in Thomson and later released.
Sgt. Howard said Wykey Lane was traveling south on Hobbs Mill Road and lost control of his Dodge Neon after a small animal ran out in front of him. The car, which was totaled, overturned once and came to rest in a nearby field.
