Ms. Sylvia Lee Spear Sims
BLYTHE, Ga. - Ms. Sylvia Lee Spear Sims, 67, went home to
be with the Lord on December 26, 2010 surrounded by her family
and friends. Sylvia
was predeceased by her husband of 37 years, Bobby Drew Sims,
her parents, Alex Spear and Tiny Pope, and her sister, Barbara
Ann Jefferson. She leaves to cherish her memory: her children,
Michael Allen Sims, Rebecca Sims Edwards (Forrest) and Regina
L. Sims (Jeff), grandchildren, Heather and Holly Edwards, Amanda
and Bobby Lynn Sims, and Joseph Lane Grubbs, siblings, Linda
Snellings (James), Jay Spear (Patsy),sister in laws, Betty Daniels,
Linda Millians, and Diedra Sims, a host of nieces, nephews, and
best friends of 44 years, Sharon and Joseph Yoho, and goddaughter,
Aletha Snowberger.
Sylvia received her Educational Specialist degree in Educational
Leadership from Augusta State University. She was a beloved teacher
at Blythe Elementary for over 25 years. She was an active member of
Blythe Baptist Church where she taught Sunday school.
The funeral was conducted at 10am, Tuesday, December 28th at
the funeral home. Interment followed at the Blythe Baptist Church
Cemetery. The Rev. Richard Dendler officiated.
Pallbearers weree Rick Lunsford, Eric Snowberger, Ken Chancey,
Matthew Syms, Aubrey Street, and Mike Cabe.

Hephzibah Funeral Home and Cremation Service was in charge
of arrangements.
