Mrs. Roxie Gay
DEARING, Ga. - Mrs. Roxie Gay, 71, of Dearing, went to heaven
to be with her Lord on Thursday, December 30, 2010.
Mrs. Gay was a native of Wrens. She was a graduate of the
Academy of Richmond County in 1958. She married, moved to
Wrens, and started a family. Mrs. Gay worked in Civil Service at
Fort Gordon for 26 years. Her happiest moments in life were spent
with her children and grandchildren. Family members include son:
David Gay (Michelle) of North Carolina, Larry D. Gay of Augusta,
and daughter: Donna Williams (Alex) of Dearing, grandchildren:
Lauren, Dusty, Trace, Ashley, Jessica, Brittany, Rob, Devin and
Dalton, sisters: Betty Gain (Howard), of FL, Ruth Ann Dunbar
(Charles) of SC, brother: Larry Johnson (Jennette) of GA and Billy
Johnson of SC.
Graveside service was held Saturday, January 1, 2011 at 1 p.m.. in
Westview Cemetery with Rev. Chris New officiating.
Memorial contributions may be made to the family in memory of
Roxie. The family will receive friends following the service at the
graveside.
Thomas Poteet & Son Funeral Directors was in charge of
arrangements.
