Mr. Kenneth Alton Lyons
GIBSON, Ga. - Mr. Kenneth Alton Lyons, 82, of Gibson, loving
husband of the late Mrs. Maline Purvis Lyons, entered into rest
Wednesday Dec. 29, 2010, at the Gibson Health & Rehabilitation
Center, Gibson.
Graveside Services were held at the Mitchell City Cemetery,
Mitchell, Ga., with Rev. Tommy Harwell officiating.
Mr. Lyons was a Native of Glascock, Co. and lived here all his
life, he was the manager of Sophie's Restaurant in Thomson. for
many years and served his country in the Army during the Korean
Conflict.
He is survived by two sons, Dwayne (Sharon) Lyons of Gibson
and Vick (Chris) Lyons of N. Augusta, S.C.; four daughters, Elain
(David) Stephens of Thomson, Marsha Lyons of N. Augusta, S.C.,
Melba Vaughn of Augusta, and Lisa (Alan) Wasden of Louisville.
There are nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. William Vick and
Mrs. Pearl May Lyons, two brothers John and Willie Lyons, four
sisters Sophie Reese, Vera Harrell, Martha Burgamy, and Mahala
Paulk.
Sheppard Funeral Home, Gibson, Ga. was in charge of
arrangements.
