Mr. Dennis Clarence Harper

THOMSON, Ga. - Mr. Dennis Clarence Harper, 57 of Thomson, died Friday, January 14, 2011, at McDuffie Regional Medical Center, Thomson. Funeral services were held on Monday, January 17, at 2 p.m. at Ebenezer Baptist Church, Wilkes County with Dr. Leonard Dupree officiating. Interment followed at Goshen Baptist Church Cemetery in Lincoln County. Mr. Harper, a native of Wilkes County, had been a resident of Thomson for the past six years. He was an employee at North Columbia Elementary School and a member of Ebenezer Baptist Church. His father, Clarence Monroe Harper, preceded him in death. He is survived by his wife, Mattie Blackburn Harper; daughters: Tara Harper Farr, and husband, Brian Edwin Farr of Martinez, Tina Harper Seeger, and husband Walter Rhodes Seeger , Jr. of Augusta; Mother, Ethel Turpin Harper, Washington; Brother: Ronnie Harper, Tignall; Sisters, Janice Harper Powick, Augusta, and Jeanie Harper Gaines, Washington; Grandchildren, Emily Ryan Farr, and Rebecca Claire Seeger and a number of nieces, nephews, and other relatives. Chris Blackburn, David Harper, Shane Gunter, Don Blackburn, Willie Frank Blackburn and Jimmie Blackburn served as pallbearers. Memorial contributions may be made Ebenezer Baptist Church, c/o Mrs. Teresa Burdette, 1568 Greensboro Rd., Washington, Ga. 30673. Beggs Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
