Mr. William A. "Bill" Raley
MITCHELL, Ga. - Mr. William A. "Bill" Raley, 69, met his
Heavenly Father Wednesday January 12, 2011, at McDuffie Regional
Medical Center, Thomson.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. at Mitchell United Methodist
Church, Mitchell with Rev. Mary Griswell officiating, interment was
in the church cemetery.
Mr. Raley was a native of Bibb County but Lived in Glascock,
County for many years. He was a biomedical engineer and technician
at the V.A. Medical Center in Augusta and Dublin. He was an active
member of Mitchell City Council, Mitchell Fire Chief, and was heavily
involved in all civic activities of the Mitchell Community, which he
dearly loved. He had retired from the V.A. after 32 Years of service.
He is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Mrs. Daphine McFay
Raley, one son William A. (Janet) Raley, of Mitchell; two daughters,
Amy R. (Darren) Borton and Amanda R. (David) Broxton, both of
Mitchell; one brother Joel T. Raley, of Macon, and one sister, Sue R.
(Johnny) Fortson of Gallena, Ill; several nieces and nephews, Terrell,
Cleve, Teri, Rob, and Rick.
He was preceded in death by a brother, F. Robert Raley and
a nephew, Mark Fortson.
