Thomson man charged with stalking

Local authorities recently arrested a 24-year-old Thomson man on stalking charges.

The suspect was identified as Timothy Ward Hill, of the 200 block of Jones Road, according to a report filed by Thomson police Master Sgt. Scott Whittle.

Mr. Hill, who was taken into custody Jan. 9, was charged with one count of aggravated stalking. He was jailed in the McDuffie County Law Enforcement Center.

The charge stems from his having reportedly peeped into a window of a residence on Willow Street.

Sgt. Whittle placed Mr. Hill under arrest when he arrived on the scene after the officer received information that the suspect was wanted on an outstanding probation warrant, police records show.

The officer also learned that an active temporary protective order was in place against Mr. Hill, ordering him to stay a certain distance away from the victim.
