Mr. Joel "Billy" William Pope, Jr.
CRAWFORDVILLE, Ga. - Mr. Joel "Billy" William Pope, Jr. of
Crawfordville, entered into rest January 23, 2011. Funeral services
will be held at 10 a.m., Tuesday, January 25, 2011 at the Beggs
Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Tim Ferrell officiating. Graveside
services followed at 4 p.m. in the Fain Cemetery in Calhoun,
Georgia with Rev. Eddie Brannon officiating. Mr. Pope was born
in Atlanta, and was the son of the late Joel William Pope, Sr. and
the late Cynthia Elizabeth Fanning Pope. He lived in Chamblee for
many years and retired from General Motors Doraville Plant as a
Parts Clerk. Mr. Pope lived in Adairsville, Georgia before moving
to Crawfordville in 2002. He was a member of Bethany Primitive
Baptist Church in Tucker.
Survivors include his daughter, Ketra Pope, Crawfordville;
brother, James Pope; sister, Nelle Marie Anderson both of Eatonton
; grandchildren, Savanna Christine Sparks, Sandi Ellen Skye Sparks;
companion, Gladys Thaxton, Crawfordville.
Mr. Pope was preceded in death by his wife, Peggy Ellen Burns
Pope.
Beggs Funeral Home was in charge of arrangement.s.
