Mr. Robert (Bob) Louis Norquist
GALESBURG, Il - Mr. Robert (Bob) Louis Norquist, 87, passed
away on January 19, 2011, surrounded by his family. Bob was born
in Galesburg, IL and honorable and proudly served onboard L.S. T
244 in the U. S. Coast Guard during World War II in the South
Pacific conflicts.
After the War, he returned home, married Jeanne Flaherty. They
were married 57 years, until her death in 2003. Bob and Jeanne
raised 5 daughters - Pat, Jan, Karen Barbara and Susan. He was
always proud of the family they created, which has grown to include
nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
He served the Lord faithfully
in the Roman Catholic Church;
most recently as a member
of Corpus Christi Catholic
Church in Lexington, SC.
Over the years he served as
an Extraordinary Minister of
Holy Communion and was a
Past Grand Knight for Council
#6918, Thomson. He was a
patriot, a conversationalist, a
Braves fan and our Papa.
He is survived by his
immediate family, loving
companion, Ruby Curtis, and
brothers Edward Norquist,
Galesburg, IL, William
Norquist, Mt. Ephram, NJ,
and sisters Virginia Vinson,
Southhaven, MS, Marilyn
Mellican, Galesburg, IL.

placed on all of the graves at all
of the National Cemeteries in
honor of all of our Veterans.
