Allen-Jenkins wed Nov. 20

Lauren Anastasia Allen and Bradley Christopher Jenkins were united in marriage at 6 p.m., Saturday, November 20, 2010, at the Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church in Augusta. The Rev. Father Vasile Bitere offi ciated. Lauren is the daughter of Mrs. Libby Rivers Allen and Mr. Russell Keith Allen, of Thomson. She is the granddaughter of the late Mr. William Fay Rivers and the late Mrs. Catherine Blanos Rivers of Augusta, and Mrs. Reba Chalker Allen, and the late Mr. Ethan Pride Allen of Thomson. Lauren is a graduate of Thomson High School and Augusta State University with an educational specialist degree in teaching and learning. She is employed by the McDuffi e County Board of Education as a special education teacher at J.A. Maxwell Elementary School. Bradley is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Bonnell Lester Jenkins of Thomson. He is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Clinton Linton Norris, Sr. of Thomson, and the late Mr. and Mrs. Walter Lester Jenkins of Sylvania, GA. Bradley is a graduate of Thomson High School, and attended Middle Georgia College. He is employed by Jenkins Plumbing. Given in marriage by her father, Lauren chose her sister, Catherine Elizabeth Allen of Thomson, to serve as her maid of honor and her friend, Ashley Walker Morey of Gainesville, GA, to serve as matron of honor respectively. Bridesmaids were Molly Jones Ansley and Kelly Jones Poss of Thomson, cousins of the bride, and Brandy Kirkland Judkins of Grovetown, friend of the bride. Junior bridesmaid was Bryanna Marie Jenkins of Harlem, niece of the groom. The fl ower girl was Chloe Allen Poss of Thomson, cousin of the bride. Bradley chose his brother, Charles Brett Jenkins of Thomson, to serve as his best man. Groomsmen were Mark Bryan Jenkins of Harlem, brother of the groom, Chadwick Linton Norris, cousin of the groom, William Talmadge Ansley, cousin of the bride, and Mack Leon Cartledge, friend of the groom, all of Thomson. Junior groomsmen were Porter Jeremy Brooks, friend of the bride and groom, and Mr. Ethan Pride Ansley of Thomson, cousin of the bride, both of Thomson. Carson Talmadge Ansley of Thomson, cousin of the bride was the ring bearer. Orthodox sponsor of the bride and groom was Mrs. Elaine Nicholson Paul of Augusta, Godmother of the bride. The wedding was directed by Mrs. George Allen Lokey. Music was provided by organist Mrs. Artemisia Thevaos of Augusta. The Chanter was Mr. Gus Magoulas of Augusta and the Epistle was read by Mr. Nick Rivers of Augusta, uncle of the bride. Program attendant was Dana Stowe. Jennifer Sandifer attended to the bride's book. Cake attendants were Bliss Hawkins and Donna Bennett. Following the ceremony, a reception was held at the Marbury Center in Augusta with music provided by Sassy Brass Band with Steve Chappell. The couple honeymooned in Jamaica and now resides in Harlem.
