Judge thanks Thomson citizens for their support

To the Citizens of Thomson:

It has been my honor and privilege to serve the citizens of Thomson as your municipal court judge for the past 18 years. During that time the court has grown from handling a few cases in the police chief's office to filling the Superior Court courtroom to capacity. Along with the immensely increased number of defendants and citations, we have added a full-time probation service, indigent defense service, and appointed a state trained and certified clerk of court. Additionally, nuisance abatement hearings and city ordinance violations are heard by the court. The court continues to grow and change.

I want to thank DeWayne Patrick and then-Mayor Bob Knox Jr. for appointing me as the city court judge back in 1991. I also want to thank Kay Chalker, clerk of court, and Elaine Lowry, CSRA probation officer, who have served the court in an outstanding, professional manner and have been instrumental in the court's success.

I thank each of these individuals and the citizens of Thomson for their confidence in me and for the opportunity to serve. I wish everyone continued success in the future.
