Kim Grant and Elaine Newsome were playmates at age 5 in Thomson. As teenagers they would telephone and agree to "meet halfway" between their homes to discuss the topics of the day. Decades later, they are still best friends.
Their story was the lead item Sunday in a "Best of Friends" feature in American Profile magazine, distributed locally by The Augusta Chronicle.
