WAYNESBORO, Ga. --- Terryhon Wright converted a three-point play with 3:55 left in the game, and Stetson Smith later made three of four foul shots with less then 35 seconds remaining as Washington County defeated Thomson, 49-43, Feb. 17, ending the Bulldogs' season.
Wright led Washington County (22-3) with 13 points as the South's No. 2 seed went up eight points in the fourth quarter before Thomson, the North's No. 3 seed, made a rally late to try and come back.
Thomson's Antonio Coleman scored on a layup to make it 44-41 with 32.3 seconds to go, but Washington County closed the win by posting five of the last seven points of the night.
Coleman was one of three Bulldogs to score at least six points in the tough defeat.
Wright and Coleman led all scorers with 13 points each. Thomson's Ronkeem Sallywhite had 7 points; Josh Daniels, 6; Ant Moss, 4; Dwayne Williams, 4; LaVance Yarborough, 4; Mikel Paschal, 3; and Biquavious Sturgis, 2.
Thomson finished its season with a record of 16-8.
