Baby Derby helps fund projects of Lions Club

The Lions Club needs your support to help Georgians who are losing their sight.

One of the Lions charities is the Georgia Lions Lighthouse Foundation. More than 300 doctors donate their services to this sight-saving work, while the Lighthouse provides free eye exams, eyeglasses and eye surgeries to hundreds of Georgians. One of the fundraisers to help continue this work is the Baby Derby.

The Thomson Camellia City Lions Club is sponsoring its Annual Baby Derby, a photo contest for boys and girls, birth through 4 years. The contest runs through April 20. The winner is determined by the number of votes collected at 25 cents per vote. Applications are available at Richards' Florist, child care centers and Axon's in Dearing.

The first-place winner will receive a trophy and a $100 U.S. savings bond. Second place will receive a trophy and a $50 savings bond. Third place receives a trophy and $25 in cash.

Winners will be announced at a party for all of the contestants and their families at the Thomson Depot on April 23.
