Mr. David L. Stokely
FERNANDINA BEACH, Fla. - Mr. David L. Stokely, 68, entered
into rest on Tuesday, March 8, 2011, at Shand's hospital, Jacksonville,
Fl.
Mr. Stokely was born to the late James and Wanda Stokely of Thomson.
He served in the U.S. Army, 101st Airborne Division, after which he
attended Southern Polytech State University for Civil Engineering. His
career was spent with CSX railroad. David was an avid fisherman, fishing
in ponds, inlets and the coastal waters in and around Fernandina. He
especially loved the times spent teaching his son how to fish, kayak, and
navigate the beautiful waters where he lived.
Mr. Stokely is survived by his wife, Kay Bedingfield Stokely,
Fernandina Beach, FL; a son, Dr. Christopher Lee Stokely, Marietta, GA.;
a brother, Dr. James R. Stokely (Martha), Oak Ridge, TN; a sister, Margie
S. McElderry (Bill) Augusta, Ga and a host of nieces and nephews.
The family would like to especially thank Greg and Theresa Graham
for their care and concern.
A memorial service was held on Saturday, March 12 at 3 p.m. at
Riverwood Center Nursing Facility, Jacksonville, Fl.
