Gatewood School defeated Briarwood Academy, 160 to 185, in a golf match at Belle Meade Country Club on March 14.
"We are going in the wrong direction," Briarwood coach Dennis Coxwell wrote in an e-mail. "Our team started the year hitting the ball well, and we should be improving as we go along. That didn't happen today. We'll get there."
Gatewood's Trey Rule was the medalist with a 36 for nine holes.
Competing for Briarwood were Dalton Reese, 42; Taylor Coxwell, 46; Ashton Wiley, 48; Brandon Brewer, 49; Bryce Sowell, 49; Blake Sowell, 50; Jackson Williams, 53; and Tad McCorkle, 71.
