Mrs. Joan Ansley Malcom
THOMSON, Ga. - Mrs. Joan Ansley Malcom,
77 of Thomson, entered into rest March 16, 2011.
She was the beloved wife of the late Jackson E.
Malcom, Sr.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m., Saturday,
March 19, 2011 at the First Baptist Church,
Thomson with Dr. James M. Ramsey officiating.
Interment followed at Westview Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Don Reese, Wayne Reese, Tony
Williamson, Wade Williamson, Michael Ansley,
Justin Creech, Matthew Graziano. Honorary pallbearers were members
of the Agape Sunday School Class and members of the Thomson Lions
Club.
Mrs. Malcom was born in Columbia County, Georgia and was the
daughter of the late Milton Ansley and the late Frances McCorkle Ansley.
She resided in North Augusta, SC for over 20 years and then moved to
Thomson in 1985 where she spent the remainder of her life. Mrs. Malcom
was a homemaker and a member of the First Baptist Church of Thomson
where she was a faithful and devoted member. She was a member of
the WMU at First Baptist Church and the Agape Sunday School Class.
Mrs. Malcom was also active in many other organizations including, the
Thomson-Camelia City Lions Club, the VFW Post # 6672, NARF and
the Daughters of the Nile.
Survivors include her children, Donna M. Barnhill and husband,
Barry of Thomson, Jackson E. Malcom, Jr. and wife, Rebecca of Guyton,
GA, Pamela M. Graziano and husband, Butch of Thomson, GA and
grandchildren, Brittany Barnhill, Brooke Barnhill and Kylie Malcom.
In addition to floral offerings, memorials may be made to First Baptist
Church, P. O. Box 1205, Thomson, GA 30824.
Beggs Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
