JROTC places second at Six Flags

The Thomson High School Navy JROTC color guard finished second among 11 teams competing Saturday at Six Flags over Georgia in Austell.

Gunnery Sgt. Larry Dunn traveled with the squad, which competed against units from Texas, South Carolina, Tennessee, Alabama and Georgia.

Cmdr. Phillip Gibson led the squad, which included fellow students John May, Ashley Chapel and Demashawn Clark.

Thomson High School's JROTC program includes a drill team, athletic team, air rifle team and academic team.
