Thomson High School assistant baseball coach Aaron Hall said he was quoted out of context in an article in the March 17 edition of The McDuffie Mirror.
"Thirteen years, and not once have I said anything about a kid in a derogatory manner," Hall said. Hall was quoted on senior Dontavis "Juicy" Brown's .429 on-base percentage. Hall said he explained that the number does not reflect Brown's value to the team. "He's a better player than that," Hall told The Mirror on Friday, after the article was published.
"He's done an outstanding job for us for four years, and he's been an outstanding center fielder," Hall said. "I had the opportunity to coach him in football in middle school. He's an all-around good kid. He's always done everything I've asked of him."
